To all the English teachers out there,
I have a convenient resource to share for daily reading and listening practice-- I am a firm believer in the power of lots and lots of easy, pleasurable reading over time (Extensive Reading). It's like magic. But getting my busy students to make time for it just wasn't working out practically. I needed to think creatively and commit to meeting them where they are at. So I started posting my daily diary in English on YouTube. The video is for listening (or shadowing) and the text is in the description below for reading. It's very short (about one or two minutes!) and in pretty easy English so just about anyone can follow along and get a daily dose of useful English. And it's fun! And on some Thursdays, I am posting some quick English learning tips based on the contents seen in the diary videos. So learners can easily access constant content and learning points to level-up their English fluency little by little, day by day... And since it's freely available on a widely accessible platform like YouTube, I am happy to share it beyond just my own students. Please feel free to make use of it as a resource if you think it can benefit your students too.
